Figure 2

Particle concentrations in formulations of buffer, rmGH, buffer that contained emulsified silicone oil microdroplets, rmGH that contained emulsified silicone oil microdroplets, and rmGH that contained syringe-extracted silicone oil microdroplets. Particle concentrations were measured by FlowCAM® which detects particles between 2 – 100 μm in the formulations that were injected into mice on day 1 (solid) and day 15 (striped) in Study 1. Particle concentrations were two to four orders of magnitude higher for formulations that contained silicone oil microdroplets compared to formulations of rmGH. Error bars represent the standard deviation from the average of three replicates.
