The expression of chondrogenic genes in cartilage derived stem/progenitor cells after treatment is higher than those in bone mesenchymal stem cells (p<0.05). However, the mRNA expression of adipogenic markers (adiponectin, adipocyte fatty acid binding protein [AP2] and fatty acid synthase [FAS]) in cartilage derived stem/progenitor cells after treatment is lower than those in perichondrium derived stem/progenitor cells (p<0.05).
