Table 1.

Dbn−/+ mice were mated to generate Dbn−/− mice, which were initially viable but died prior to weaning (P21) (X2 = 16.7, 2 degrees of freedom, p = 0.001). The number of offspring for each genotype is indicated for observed and expected numbers (parentheses) based on Mendelian ratios of 1:2:1 on embryonic day 14.5 (E14.5), the day of birth (P0-1), and the day of weaning (P21). Subsequent genotyping analysis revealed neonatal mortality within 48 hours of birth.
