Checkerboard images of the blockface volume of the receptor brain and the T2*-weighted atlas MRI template after each registration step: rigid (first row), affine (second row) and non-linear (third row). Considering size and shape of the brain and especially its outer surface (green circles), cerebella (blue circles) and olfactory bulbs (yellow circles) the matching quality increased with increasing degree of freedoms of the transformations.
