Cross sections of rat aorta were encapsulated in collagen, fibrin and hPLG and cultured in serum-free basal medium for 3 days at 37 °C. Data show mean ± SEM. As normal distribution and equal variance of the samples were confirmed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Bartlett’s homoscedasticity test (Supplementary Table 2), statistical significance was tested using one way ANOVA with Bonferroni post-test (*P ≤ 0.05, n = 6).
