Fig. 2 — Expression patterns of 9 clusters of co-expressed differential genes. The normalized expression pattern (log 2-transformed, median centered) of 9 clusters that were derived from the hierarchical clustering algorithm by use of the hclust function algorithm in R [70, 71]. Each gene is plotted in gray, in addition to the mean expression profile for that cluster (blue). The figure was generated by using perl script define_clusters_by_cutting_tree.pl of the Trinity software package [67]
