Compared with diabetic rats, four-week 100 mg/kg of metformin (Met) and Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBPS) at doses of 100, 250, and 500 mg/kg positively regulated the abnormal changes on (a) fasting plasma glucose level and (b) serum insulin concentration.
