The only change in the T178I mutation is the complete loss of the hydrogen bond between Thr178 and Arg672. The other two interactions between Val671 and Cys673 (both on β3) are both intact (except for Val671 in the post-rigor state, 2otg2OTG, which is not present in WT MyHC-emb or T178I).
