Increased cardiac mitochondrial H2O2 production in high‐fat high‐sucrose (HFHS) diet–fed mice is prevented by transgenic expression of mitochondrial catalase (mCAT). The mitochondrial H2O2 production rate is increased in cardiac mitochondria from wild‐type (WT) but not mCAT mice.
