Image energy distributions across orientations and scales, for the individual images, and the 6 neonatal atlases shown in Fig. 3. Higher energy values in high frequency subbands represent better preservation of anatomical details. It can be seen that the proposed atlas preserves more details from individual images, compared with state-of-the-art atlases.
