Demonstration of cross-reactivity between chicken meat myosin light chain (MLC) and fish extracts. A polyclonal rabbit antiserum against recombinant chicken MLC-1 (α-rMLC1) binds to homologous proteins around 16 and 24 kDa in trout and carp extracts. IgE binding of two chicken meat-allergic patients to the 24 kDa fish allergen can be blocked by serum pre-incubation with recombinant chicken meat MLC-1 (rMLC-1).
