(Right) Cell dissociation during the harvesting of CECs from culture plate activates RhoA/ROCK/MLC pathways. Activation of this pathway suppresses activation of the focal adhesion complex, and subsequently inhibits cell adhesion while inducing anoikis. (Left) By contrast, inhibition of actomyosin activation by a ROCK inhibitor activates the focal adhesion complex and enhances cell/ECM adhesion.
