Red-stained cells (arrows) are BDNF-positive and labeled with Cy5. BDNF expression was observed in the cortex (A) after injection of Tf-pGFAP-BDNF-PEG (I) and Tf-pCMV-BDNF-PEG (II), but not Tf-H₂O-PEG (III). Less BDNF expression was visible in the hippocampal CA1 (B) or white matter (C). Scale bars: 50 μm.
