The induction-response profile of core promoters remains consistent when input signal is changed from hypoxia to IL-6. The JRE-IL6 transcription-factor-binding site was coupled to minCMV, YB_TATA, or pJB42CAT5 and used to express Gluc in transiently transfected HEK 293T cells. The constitutive CMV promoter was included as a reference sample. (a) Gluc activity in supernatant of cells cultured with various concentrations of IL-6.
