Expansion steps during node processing generate nodes with partially (e.g., VXXXX or AXXXX) and then fully (e.g., VFYWI) defined sequences. Once a node has a fully defined sequence, conformational trees are built for it for all states. Then conformational tree expansions lead to fully processed nodes.
