Impact of AIRG on the ability of HOMA-IR to accurately estimate insulin sensitivity. All data (baseline and postfat; n = 72 assessments) were separated according to high AIRG (higher than mean of 730 μU/mL; n = 32) (A) and low AIRG (less than or equal to mean; n = 40) (B). HOMA-IR provided an accurate reflection of SICLAMP only when a robust insulin response was evident (P = 0.008 vs. P = 0.597 when AIRG is low).
