Efficiency-traced massic activity C_A (in Bq ·g⁻¹) of ⁶³Ni standard solution as a function of water mass fraction f of the LS cocktail. Data are presented for both the Packard (circles) and Beckman (squares) spectrometers using Ready Safe [Fig. 9a] and Ultima Gold [Fig. 9b] as the scintillants. A constant cocktail volume of nominally 10 g was maintained for all cocktails (cocktails series “O” to “V”). The uncertainty bars denote the measurement repeatability of a single cocktail over three to five independent measurements of the massic activity.
