Of note, SD+/+/KO mice showed a prolongation of the QT interval, similar to that observed in PLNKO mice. Although we did not explore the cause of this prolongation, it may result from the down‐regulation of outward K+ currents that has been described in the presence of similar chronic alteration of intracellular Ca2+ homeostasis, in mice overexpressing SERCA2a (Xu et al. 2005). *P < 0.05 vs. WT, P < 0.05 vs. S2814D+/+, P < 0.05 vs. PLNKO (n = 4–11 for the different groups).
