Abrin P2 induced apoptosis in HCT-8 cells in a dose-dependent manner HCT-8 cells were treated with different concentrations of abrin P2 as indicated for 48 h, and apoptotic cells were detected by flow cytometry. The percentages of apoptotic cells are shown in each treatment group. The data are presented as the mean ± SD from six independent experiments. **P < 0.01 vs. control. The apoptotic rates were 17.92% ± 7.85%, 35.03% ± 8.06%, 38.25% ± 5.44%, and 40.96% ± 8.88% after treatment with abrin P2 at doses of 1 × 10−4, 1 × 10−3, 1 × 10−2, and 1 × 10−1 μg/ml, respectively.
