A and B. Western blot depicting the phosphorylation state and relative level of EIIA^Glc in E. coli MG1655 (WT), Δcrr and H91A (mutant strain that carrying a chromosomal EIIA^GlcH91A point mutation). Extracts were prepared from cultures grown in LB broth (A) and at 10 min after reinoculation into minimal medium without carbon, with 0.2% glucose or succinate (B). The percentage of phosphorylated EIIA^Glc relative to total EIIA^Glc was determined as described in Figure 6.
