The time courses in the enlargements are from a single voxel, i, in a region activated by the task, which was presented in an ABABABA block design, where A was the rest phase and B a hand motor task. The beta value for each voxel is the result of the fit of the time series for that voxel in Run j to that in Run k (in this example, Run 1 to Run 2)
