Inhibition of MIF abolished AA-induced EMT induction and matrix deposition in TECs. Western blot assay showed that AA increased the expression of MIF, type III collagen, α-SMA, and TGF-β1 and decreased the expression of E-cadherin. However, these changes including EMT induction and matrix deposition were inhibited by ISO-1 treatment.
