Black bars represent untreated biofilms or biofilms treated with 500 μM simvastatin, 20 μM pyrithione zinc, 25 μM antimycin A, 15.6 μM CCCP and 1,250 μM sodium azide alone while grey bars represent biofilms additionally treated with 125 μM miconazole. Data presented are the mean and SEM of at least three (n ≥ 3) independent experiments (each consisting of three replicates), measured by cfu counting. Two-way ANOVA statistical analysis with Tukey’s correction for multiple comparisons was performed to assign significant differences between treatments (* = p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001, ****p < 0.0001).
