SNP block ranks are based on GIANT data using our novel approach while the minimum univariate SNP association p-values were taken from GIANT (a,c) or calculated in HRS (b,d) for BMI (a,b) and height (c,d). The median SNP block size was 250 Kb (i.e. 85–95 SNPs).
