Hepatocyte cytoplasmic volume is increased, associated with microvesicular fat deposition in mutant mice. Yellowish cholestatic deposits (arrows in B, C) are observed in mutant livers, and bile ductular proliferation is seen (arrowhead in C) indicating response to bile duct damage.
