Acute aldosterone (ALDO) treatment up-regulates Akt/Raptor /p70S6K in PASMCs in vitro. A) Cultured human PASMCs were treated with aldosterone 10−9–10−7 M) for 1 h, and levels of P-p70S6K(Thr389), P-Akt(Ser473), P-mTOR(Ser2448,) P-Raptor(Ser792), and P-Rictor(Thr1105) were measured by immunoblot and compared with levels of the respective unmodified proteins (n = 3 for each blot). B) To support these findings, cultured PASMCs were treated with vehicle (V) control or aldosterone (10−7 M) for 1 h, and anti-Raptor and anti-P-Raptor(Ser792) immunohistochemistry was performed (n = 3).
