Representative hematoxylin and eosin [H&E]-stained sections of ESCC tissues (2 cases) are shown. miR-223, -31, and -21 ISH signal (blue, 4-nitro-blue tetrazolium and 5-brom-4-chloro-3′-indolylphosphate; counterstain, nuclear fast red) was moderate to intense and abundant in near serial formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of ESCC tumor tissue.
