The Hopkins Symptom Checklist (HSC) was used to assess symptoms of anxiety, depression, and psychological distress. An average score of 1.75 or higher out of 4 for the anxiety and depression items was considered positive for anxiety and depression symptoms, respectively. The average of the anxiety and depression scores comprises the psychological distress score, which also has a cut-off point of 1.75 out of 4
The definition of PTSD requires all of the following conditions: at least 1 of 5 re-experiencing symptoms; at least 3 of 7 avoidance or numbing symptoms; and at least 2 of 5 arousal symptoms
