Paired analysis of SSA‐Ds with corresponding dissected areas of background SSA. (A) Methylation patterns of corresponding areas of SSA and SSA‐D within single lesions did not show differences regarding CDKN2A, but tended to show an increase in MLH1 methylation. The inflammatory response (B), however, showed significantly higher levels of IELs in dysplastic areas, whereas IEGs remained randomly distributed. Paired Student's t‐tests, values are outlined as means with error bars of one standard deviation.
