CCR2 is not a critical mediator of Brucella-induced focal inflammation. Wild-type (WT) and CCR2−/− mice were infected intraperitoneally with approximately 1 × 105 colony-forming units (CFUs) of Brucella melitensis 16 M and treated with anti-interferon γ (IFN-γ; 5–10 animals/group). Incidence of paw swelling (A), clinical scores (B), and mean swelling (C) were recorded over time. On day 28 after infection mice were euthanized, and Brucella CFUs were enumerated (D). Error bars depict standard errors of the mean.
