Significant temperature depended differences (lower case letters: gross photosynthesis, capital letters: respiration, lower case and cursive letters: P:R ratios) were determined by one-way ANOVA, followed by Tukey's post hoc test (P < 0.05). Significant different P:R ratios of the ‘purple morph’ and the ‘green morph’ of the same strain at the same temperature steps (underlined letters) were determined by standard two-sample t-tests (P < 0.05).
