Modified neurologic severity score and brain water content by ARC treatment. (A) Neurological function was analyzed by NSS at 1, 3, 7, 14, and 21 days post injury (dpi). Treatment with ARC significantly lowered NSS from 3 to 21 dpi compared to untreated control. (B) Brain water content of injured hemispheres was measured at 3 dpi. The untreated SWI group had a significantly higher brain water content than naive control. ARC treatment significantly reduced brain water contents in a dose-dependent manner. n = 6 per group.
