The smart bandage assembly comprises two parts: a disposable part and a reusable part. The sensors are printed on a disposable bandage strip that can be disposed off after use. The wireless electronics which include inkjet printed circuit board and antenna are made on a kapton tape that can be detached and reused on another bandage. This approach reduces the cost of the system and maintains disposability of the bandage which has been in contact with the wound. The bandage can communicate wirelessly to a patient’s smart phone which can then connect to remote health care providers over the mobile network or the internet.
