Determination of apoptosis-associated gene expression changes in lung epithelial cells exposed to hyperoxia, radiation, and double-hit combination challenge. Non-tumorigenic murine alveolar type II epithelial cells (C10) were evaluated after 1 and 2 cycles of hyperoxia and radiation exposure and evaluated by quantitative real-time PCR analysis for (a) GADD45α; (b) Survivin; and (c) BAX gene expression. Levels of target gene mRNA were normalized to 18S ribosomal RNA and values are expressed as the mean fold change from CTL.
