Lipids derived by silica gel plate extraction were separated on a TLC using the following solvent system: hexane to a height of 20 cm and, toluene to a height of 20 cm, followed by hexane/diethyl ether/acetic acid (70:30:1, v/v/v) to a height of 10 cm.
