Effects of BGOS supplementation on locomotor activity and marble burying after LPS or saline injections. (A) Locomotor activity of all mice progressively decreased over the 2 h exploration of the cage. There was a main effect of LPS in water-fed mice relative to their saline administered counter-parts (p < 0.05). However, there were no significant differences between Water/LPS and BGOS/LPS. (B) The number of marbles buried by mice were square-root (sqrt) transformed. A reduction in marble burying was observed in LPS treated mice compared to saline administered animals (indicated by bars). Data are presented as mean ± SEM. p < 0.05. (A) n = 27 mice/group.
