Descriptor Significance
Correlation coefficient (R2) A measure of the linearity of the standard curve. Ideally it should be R2=1. Value of R2=0.98-0.99 are acceptable.
Slope (α) A measure of reaction efficiency. Ideally it should be equivalent to -3.32. Value in the range between -3.58 and -3.1.
Efficiency (=10(-1/slope)-1) If it is 100%, the templates doubles after each thermal cycle during exponential amplification. A good efficiency range is between 90 and 110%.
Y Intercept (β) The theoretical limit of detection of the reaction. Although not used to quantify reaction sensitivity, it is important when comparing different standard curves of the same target.
