(a) Percentage of STZ-induced diabetic NOD.scid mice achieving normoglycaemia after human islet transplantation and 4 weeks of treatment with PSN632408 or vehicle. At 4 weeks after transplantation, percentage of mice with normoglycaemia was 71% in PSN632408-treated diabetic mice and 24% in vehicle-treated mice (P < 0.002). (b) Nonfasting blood glucose levels in PSN632408-treated mice and in vehicle-treated mice before transplantation and at 4 weeks after transplantation. PSN632408 treatment significantly reduced the mean nonfasting blood glucose level compared with vehicle treatment at 4 weeks after transplantation (∗∗∗ P < 0.001).
