Notes: The MX-1 cells were exposed to test compounds for 30 min prior to hypoxic exposure (20 h, 1% O₂). VEGF and IGF-2 mRNA levels were estimated in MX-1 cells by using qRT-PCR analysis. Data shown are relative expression levels (mean ± SD) of VEGF normalized to GAPDH control, determined from one representative experiment performed in triplicate (A). Secreted VEGF proteins were determined by ELISA and normalized to the C1 group (21% O₂ group) (B).
