DEGs are grouped according to the stage, where their null mutant defect is first evident. Box fill colours denote orthology/homology and functional domain conservation. Black and red borders for Dictyostelid orthologues and homologues, respectively, mark genes with developmental expression different from majority (when n≥3, all differ from each other). Coloured borders for outgroup species denote kingdom of origin.
