*Calf thymus DNA was incubated with oxidants as shown in Materials and Methods. The commercial calf thymus DNA originally contained 8-oxo-dG at levels of 0.60 ± 0.15 number per 10⁵ dG, and the present results include the original amounts of 8-oxo-dG. **Values are mean ± SD (n = 6) and different superscript letters indicate statistically significant differences (p<0.05).
