Depletion of phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN) increases protein kinase B (Akt) phosphorylation but has no effects on focal adhesion kinase (FAK) phosphorylation in fibroblasts. MRC-5 cells were transfected with PTEN siRNA or negative control (NC) siRNA for 48 h, and (a) total Akt (t-Akt), Ser473 phosphorylated Akt (p-Akt), (b) total FAK (t-FAK), and Tyr397 phosphorylated FAK (p-FAK) were measured by Western blot. β-Actin was used as a loading control.
