Transfection with p38 siRNA attenuated the TGF-β1-induced expression of p38, p-p38 and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF). (A) The expression of p38 and p-p38 in cells following treatment with 3 ng/ml TGF-β1 for 6 h was detected by immunofluorescence staining. (B) The expression of CTGF was detected by western blot analysis. These results have validated that the p38 pathway plays a critical role in TGF-β1-induced hypertrophy of the lumbar ligamentum flavum (LF).
