Enrollment inclusion criteria: i) asthmatic patients aged >4 years old and diagnosed according to the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines were enrolled; ii) patients did not have current or recent infection, were not taking any medication, and did not experience any acute asthma exacerbations or attacks; and iii) patients were only allergic to dust mites. Enrollment exclusion criteria: i) patients were <4 years old; ii) patients with current or recent infection, taking any medication, and who had experienced acute asthma exacerbations or attacks.
