Comparing the performance of the ML, LR, and ADC-map techniques in estimating the ADC values for specific lesion and motion misalignment parameters derived directly from patient images. The average of the estimated ADC value using the different methods over the 100 noise realizations is plotted. The LR-based technique is not accurate for several lesions, for which, the SNRb0 values were smaller than 5. The ADC-map approach had high values of bias due to the misalignment between the images at the different b values. In all the cases in this realistic patient dataset, the proposed ML-based technique outperformed the LR and ADC-map approaches.
