The drop-shape pattern for manipulating magnetized particles in a conical magnetic driving field is illustrated. The pattern geometry has gaps, dG, and head diameters, dP, respectively. The external magnetic field, H, traces a cone around the vertical z- direction, where α is the cone angle, i.e. the angle between applied the magnetic field and the substrate normal.
