Effect of GCs treatment on osteoclast differentiation, as measured by TRAP staining. TRAP-positive multinucleated cells located at the bone surface within the bone destruction were considered to be osteoclasts. Compared with the control group, the number of osteoclasts in the areas of bone destruction was significantly decreased in the GC-treated group. The data are presented as the mean ± standard deviation (*P<0.05, vs. the control group).
