The Müller cell processes in the outer plexiform layer (OPL) in the synaptic zone. The cone peduncles in this zone form synapses (Syn) to both horizontal and bipolar cells. The presynaptic region has specialized synaptic bands (SB), surrounded by abundant synaptic vesicles (sv).
