Effects of immobilized MBP-QQ-2 on biofilm formation of K. oxytoca. Purified MBP-QQ-2 was covalently linked to slide surfaces of flow cells using concentrations of 2.5 fmol/mm2 – 2.5 pmol/mm2. 1.35 × 108 cells of K. oxytoca were supplemented and after 1 h, flow cells were flowed for 72 h at 30°C with 20 mL/h GC medium. Biofilms were stained with Syto9. Images were recorded with Leica TCP Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope (Leica) and analyzed with Leica software. 3D CLSM images showing live cells stained with Syto9 (green) were scanned along the biofilm depth (z-axis).
