Apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε2 carriers used the hippocampus-dependent spatial strategy significantly more than the other genotype groups (χ² = 7.91, df = 2, p < 0.05). 61% of APOE ε2 carriers used a spatial strategy in contrast to only 28% of ε3/ε3 individuals and 29% of ε4 carriers using a spatial strategy.
